UK's 27-7 Enters Canada With CD Warehouse

LONDON (Hypebot) – Canada's digital distributors just got some strong competition. UK based 24-7 Entertainment has signed a deal with Canadian music fulfillment provider and record retailer, CD Warehouse and their MyMusic.Com. Under the agreement, MyMusic will act as 24-7's sales, integration and support representative for their digital distribution platform in Canada. This partnership is part of a plan for 24-7 Entertainment to penetrate new markets with the help of local partners.

Their first collaboration is the launch of Warner Music Canada’s direct-to-consumer online store Rhinorecords.ca. MyMusic will use the 24-7 technology platform to deliver all digital products for Rhino as DRM-free 256 kbit MP3s.

From the press release:

“We understand the importance of transitioning our physical business into the digital realm. This partnership between 24-7 and MyMusic provides us with an ideal back-end solution as a part of our D2C initiative. Our D2C store provides an additional outlet for consumers to purchase both our physical & digital catalog music in one location with one shopping basket via a trusted source, therefore not fragmenting their shopping experience.”, said Ken Berry Warner Music Canada.

“We are very pleased to represent 24-7 Entertainment’s digital distribution platform in Canada and offer labels, retailers or telcos an unparalleled download service with the opportunity to sell digital music seamlessly on their own sites and based on their unique parameters”, said Stephen Bleeker, CEO & Co-Founder, MyMusic.
