U2 Staying With Universal

LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — U2's manager Paul McGuinness has put the kibosh on rumors that the band may be planning on leaving Universal Music for greener pastures.

McGuinness has said that the band has an "excellent relationship" with the label and has recently signed off on a deal for another 4 albums with Universal.

The rumors started with Fox News columnist Roger Friedman, who apparently misinterpreted some comments by McGuinness as a hint that the band was on their way out the door. McGuinness had been highly critical of the major labels, citing a "through lack of foresight and planning allowed a range of industries to arise that let people steal music" according to Undercover.au
