Tom Wolfe Looks For A New Publisher

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Author Tom Wolfe has left his old home at publishing house Farrar, Straus & Giroux after finding himself unable to come to terms with the publisher on a price for his forthcoming novel, "Back to Blood" Variety has reported.

The author has produced some smash hits with "The Right Stuff," "Bonfire of the Vanities," and "A Man in Full" but his most recent tome "I am Charlotte Simmons" took a beating by critics and shifted considerably fewer units than his previous efforts. The initial print run for the book was 1.5 million but it had sold less than 25% of that 3 months in.

"We read the proposal, we liked the book a lot but we couldn't agree on the price," said Jonathan Galassi, president of Farrar, Straus & Giroux told Variety "It was as simple as that."

Wolfe's agent could not be reached for comment at the time of publication. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
