Tom Jones Walks Off Stage

SINGAPORE (VIP NEWS) Tom Jones has reportedly walked off stage after performing just two songs.

Ten minutes into the concert, which was held at Resorts World Sentosa, Tom Jones shocked the crowd by announcing that he'd have to postpone the concert as he had a bad sore throat and was unwell.

"I thought I'd be able to do this tonight but it's not working," he said apologetically.

Jones, 69, then walked offstage, to the confusion of the audience, which was made up of a mix of locals and expatriates in their 30s and 40s.

"I thought he was joking at first but when the lights came up I couldn't believe it. He should have called it off earlier this afternoon if he was unwell. What a waste of time," Stella Lee, 40, accounts manager.

An announcement was reportedly then made informing concert goers to check the Resorts World website for updates on when the concert would be postponed to.

When AsiaOne checked the website an apology was put up saying the cancellation of the concert was because Tom Jones was ill.

According to the notice, Resorts World is currently working with Tom Jones' management on a new date for the concert, which will most probably be next week.
