Timberlake Breaks Records In Australia

SYDNEY, Australia (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Justin Timberlake has broken the venue record for Sydney’s Acer Arena, and is looking to sell out the entire Australian leg of his “FutureSex/LoveShow” tour.

Timberlake sold 19,500 tickets to his Sydney appearance at the former SuperDome, priced at $98 to $180.

He then went on to sell out his entire Melbourne run, with 15,000 tickets to his first date Rod Laver Arena selling out in 10 minutes, and the second date by the next day.

“Justin’s the biggest male star in the world and the demand in Australia reinforces that,” Frontier Touring’s Michael Gudinski told the Herald-Sun.

“We could have done double the shows we’ve announced.”

Timberlake has a policy of doing no more than two shows in a row, which has stalled negotiations to add a third Melbourne date.

“There’s no plans to do a third show in Melbourne at the moment, but I’m going to do everything I can to convince them to add some more dates,” Gudinski told the paper.

“The demand has been phenomenal. It’s the fastest-selling show I can remember.”

Timberlake is performing in the round, allowing each venue to sell more floor tickets than usual, helping the pop star to break records. Gudinski told the paper that thirty semi-trailers were going to be used to transport the stage around the country, as the concert will be the biggest indoor production Frontier has ever staged. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
