Ticketmaster To Ditch CAPTCHA System

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — If you are like most people, you are aggrivated by trying to puzzle out the squiggly lines used to separate humans from spam bots on websites. Known as CAPTCHA, the system can be frustrating, and apparently, Ticketmaster agrees as they have begun the process of abandoning the system in favor of what they hope will be a friendlier, easier to use solution on both their mobile apps and website.

Now fans purchasing tickets will be presented with phrases, questions or ads from Solve Media instead of the normal, hard to read mix of characters that needed to be deciphered before proceeding with the transaction. According to Ticketmaster, this has proven to be a much user-friendly approach that still deters ticket buying bots.

"Ticketmaster is passionate about the fan experience and we relentlessly pursue ways to make ticket buying more fan-friendly," said Nathan Hubbard, CEO of Ticketmaster. "While an important step in blocking BOTS, we know the current CAPTCHA solution has been a frustrating part of buying tickets for fans. By working with Solve Media and deploying our own innovative mobile solution, we're leading the industry forward through our buying experience and the aggressive fight against BOTS." – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
