Ticket Company Sues Over Canceled Music Fest

SAGINAW, MI (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A ticketing company has filed a lawsuit against a promotion company and its chairman in the wake of a last minute cancellation of a planned music festival.

According to the Saginaw News, Grand Rapids-based Star Tickets filed a lawsuit in Saginaw County Circuit Court against Chesaning Showboat Music Festival, Chesaning Showboat Inc., and Festival Chairman Scott Hewitt, alleging that the defendants breached a contract by failing to repay a pre-settlement of $50,000 on gross ticket sales that star gave the promoters ahead of the festival.

Festival Chairman Scott Hewitt cited poor ticket sales for the cancellation of the festival, which featured a lineup that included The Charlie Daniels Band, Bret Michaels, Theory of a Dead Man and KC and the Sunshine Band. Hewitt told the Saginaw News that the matter has been turned over to the festival's attorney and that the festival is reviewing their finances. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
