The German Live Sector To Celebrate Itself At LEA

FRANKFURT, Germany (VIP NEWS) — In the last decade the award ceremony of the Live Entertainment Award became the central meeting place of the German speaking event industry.

On 11 March 2014 the trophies of the PRG Live Entertainment Award (PRG LEA) will be awarded for the 9th time at Festhalle Frankfurt. They will honour the people behind the scenes of the concert, show and other event industry markets. The organisers again expect about 1300 guests to attend this spectacularly staged event.

The evening also marks the official opening of Musikmesse Frankfurt and the event technology fair Prolight + Sound.

Refined Categories

In its ninth year some categories of PRG LEA have been refined in order to consider the multifaceted industry even better. In order to include also festival organisers the category "tour organiser of the year" was renamed to "event organiser of the year".

The category "concert hall / arena tour of the year" was divided to increase chances of tours using midsized locations with a capacity of 2000 to 6000 visitors to get a LEA award. Now they have their own category "concert hall tour" while large scale tours will be covered by the category "arena tour of the year".

Additionally the "youth promotion of the year" was extended to "artist and/or youth promotion". Thus also already established artists can be honored with a LEA award.

Nominations: Superstar Tours and Iconic Venues

The main jury of PRG LEA consists of 15 renowned music journalists, radio programme organisers und culture managers. They attended more than 500 events of all kinds during the last season. The nominees of four of the 14 total LEA categories can be named today. The selection of nominees for the category "arena tour of the year" illustrates the high level of quality displayed by the industry in 2013.
In this category the tours of Die Toten Hosen (organised by Kikis Kleiner Tourneeservice), Bruno Mars (Neuland Concerts), Depeche Mode (Marek Lieberberg Konzertagentur), Robbie Williams (MCT) and Eric Clapton (United Promoters) race for the coveted trophy.

In the category „concert hall / arena of the year“ the jury chose event locations with decades of tradition in music industry. Four event locations compete for a LEA award: In addition to the Festhalle Frankfurt the further nominees are Westfalenhallen Dortmund, the Mitsubishi Electric Halle (formerly named: Philipshalle) in Düsseldorf and the Grugahalle in Essen.
