The Doors Reunite With Asbury And Copeland Added

The Doors have reunited and plan a tour and an album. Three original members of the seminal Los Angeles quartet are part of the reunion; Jim Morrison broke on through to the other side in 1971 in Paris. Keyboardist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger and drummer John Densmore remain the core of the band. However, since Desmore suffers from the hearing disorder tinnitus, he can not play live anymore but will hits the skins in the studio. Joining the refurbished Doors are ex-Cult singer Ian Asbury, who reportedly has all of Morrison's vocals tracks down pat; former Police drummer Stewart Copeland; and bassist Angelo Barbera even though the band never had a bassist.

The Doors played their first date September 3 at Hollywood's House of Blues and played the first of a handful of Harley Davidson-sponsored shows on the motorcycle maker's Open Road Tour, including September 6 at the California Motor Speedway in Fontana, Calif. One more show is scheduled for September 29 at Molson Park in Barrie, Ontario. They plan to record an album and do a full-fledged tour of the United States and Europe.
