The Allman Brothers Set For Return To The Beacon

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Once again, the Allman Brothers are lining up for their annual residency at New York City’s Beacon Theatre, continuing a tradition that the band started way back in 1989.

The Allmans at the Beacon in this year will start on April 1st with the last show taking place on the 16th. The group will then take part in Eric Clapton's "Crossroads" benefit show April 12-13 at Madison Square Garden before heading south for scheduled performances at the Wanee Music Festival in Florida.

The Beacon shows have proven to be very popular with the band's fans and the group has sold the Beacon out 210 times in the past two decades. Guests are often asked to sit in as well and this list includes Eric Clapton, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bruce Hornsby, Billy Gibbons, Jimmy Herring, Widespread Panic, Taj Mahal, Johnny Winter, Boz Scaggs, Grace Potter, the Asbury Jukes Horns, Kid Rock, Buddy Guy, Hubert Sumlin, Sheryl Crow, Dr. John to name a few.

"Yes, it’s that time," said Gregg Allman. "The Beacon run is always magical. The room sounds great, lots of familiar faces and the band really stretches out. After Macon, New York is really our second home. There’s just something about it, and our fans know it."
