Taylor Swift Sued Following Failed Festival

OTTAWA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Taylor Swift is reportedly being sued by a ticketing company seeking to recover some of her performance fee in the wake of a failed concert in Ottawa.

According to the Ottawa Citizen, Swift had been paid $2.5 million to perform at the Capital Hoedown festival in Ottawa in August. However Denis Benoit, the event's promoter, canceled the festival, citing “higher than expected costs from the city, upfront production expenditures and lower than anticipated ticket sales,” leaving ticketing company Front Gate Tickets on the hook for refunds for the 15,000 tickets to the tune of 1.8 million.

Now Front Gate has filed suit against Swift, seeking some of the performance fee she had been paid, alleging that the singer improperly kept the fee, even though she did not perform.

A representative for the singer told TMZ.com that Swift did not have an agreement with Front Gate and had not seen the lawsuit. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
