Swanson Resigns At Global Entertainment

PHOENIX (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Roger Swanson, VP of Operations at Global Entertainment has resigned from his position, effective Wednesday.

When contacted by CelebrityAccess, Swanson demurred on the reasons for his seemingly abrupt departure from the firm, noting that he was moving home.

Global Entertainment has recently suffered several setbacks. The city of Youngstown dissolved their agreement with Global, who had been contracted to manage the Chevrolet center there. According to local newspaper The Vindy, the center has been steadily losing money since Global took it over in 2005, to the tune of at least $155,000.

International Coliseums Co. also agreed to pay $600,000 to the city, drop its federal lawsuit against the city of Youngstown and they have also waived its $12,500 monthly management fee for September and October, the Vindy reported.

Swanson is a 20 year veteran of the venue management world, with previous experience in running public and privately-owned entertainment, sports, and convention facilities.

He was introduced to Global Entertainment in 2005 while serving as project manager and interim manager for the one of Global's venues, Dodge Arena, in Hidalgo, Texas.

Previously, Swanson spent 18 years in Alaska in a variety of statewide duties for Ogden Entertainment, a facility management company that managed multiple buildings – Ben Boeke Ice Arenas (Anchorage), Dempsey Anderson Ice Arenas (Anchorage), George M. Sullivan Arena (Anchorage), John Carlson Center (Fairbanks), and William A. Egan Civic and Convention Center (Anchorage) – throughout the state.
