Starlight Amphitheater, a new $2.5 million, 27,000-capacity amphitheater (7,000 covered; 20,000 lawn) to be built in southeastern Georgia, is moving to a new site. Its original location, in Charlton County near the Okefenokee Swamp, caused traffic and sewer concerns.
The new location in Folkston is about 40 miles north of Jacksonville, Fla. and hopes to attract major touring acts. The amphitheater is expecting a September opening.
