WASHINGTON, DC (Hypebot) –
SoundExchange sent out checks for nearly $52 million to artists and rights holders in the first quarter of 2010 marking a 25% increase from any previous quarter.
The jump was came from an increase in satellite radio subscriptions caused by rising car sales, more radio stations streaming online, and the growth of Pandora and similar online music services, according to John L. Simson, the executive director of SoundExchange.
