Sony Music Australia Ties Up With Cooking Vinyl Australia

MELBOURNE, Victoria (CelebrityAccess) — Sony Music’s Australia unit, Sony Music Entertainment Australia announced that they’ve entered a partnership with the influential Australian music company Cooking Vinyl.

The partnership will see Sony make a major investment in Cooking Vinyl, allowing the brand to grow while maintaining its independence. As a part of the deal, Cooking Vinyl will be distributed on a worldwide basis by the Sony-owned indie distributor The Orchard.

Launched in 2013 as a partnership between Leigh Gruppetta, Stu Harvey and Martin Goldschmidt, the Melbourne-based Cooking Vinyl works both through international partnerships with labels such as Epitaph, Anti-, and Cooking Vinyl UK, as well as directly signing artists.

Despite Sony’s stake in Cooking Vinyl Australia, the company will continue to operate as an autonomous and stand-alone company.
