LONDON (CelebrityAccess) — Coldplay, Skepta, Florence Welch, Gary Neuman and Bill Withers were among the winners at the 62nd Ivor Novello awards.
UK grime artist Skepta, 34, won Songwriter of the Year and Best Contemporary Song for Man, and told the audience: "Songwriting has allowed me to enjoy every emotion in life.
"Bob Marley's One Love taught me that if you write about a true emotion it stands the test of time. Power to true music," he added.
Welch was recognized her International Achievement, while the UK indie-pop group Pulp won this year's award for Outstanding Music Collection.
The Ivor Novello Awards, presented by the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors (BASCA) and PRS For Music, are the only music awards not influenced by publishers and record companies, with judges drawn instead from the songwriting community.
The 62nd Ivor Novello Awards were presented on Thursday 18th May at the Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London.
