Skate Maloley Concert At Webster Hall Turns Into Brawl

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — A concert at Webster Hall on Saturday turned into a wild melee that included the artist and venue security.

According to WPIX, sources say the fight at the Skate concert started between two female audience members. Security allegedly intervened to break the fight up and the the performer then jumped into the brawl, thinking a security guard was choking a fan.

Police told WPIX that despite videos of the fight, no one was arrested.

Following the fight, fans of the rapper have launched an online petition to have Webster Hall closed in order to avoid future confrontations and a subsequent security crackdown.

Skater also cancelled a Feb 22nd show in Boston, citing the events at the Webster as the reason.

A rep from Webster Hall told CelebrityAccess:

Saturday’s incident is being fully investigated, as there are misreports about what took place. Webster Hall’s staff do NOT carry tasers and are not armed. They carry strobe flashlights. The safety of all guests is always our primary focus.

This incident involved artist and artist management, which required Webster Hall staff to intervene. The parties responsible for the incident then continued to escalate the situation. Webster Hall’s staff do not carry tasers or weapons of any kind. References to alleged weapons are false. While the incident is of course unfortunate, we are fortunate that no serious injuries were actually reported. An investigation of the incident and the people involved is ongoing. Anyone found to be involved in any wrongdoing will be dealt with immediately.
