Signatures Network Acquires Winterland Productions

Signatures Network CEO/co-owner Dell Furano has acquired Winterland Productions, his original tour merchandising company. Furano, along with Signatures co-owner and president/COO Don Hunt and the late promoter/impresario Bill Graham, founded Winterland in the early '70s and operated it until the early '90s.

Winterland's sale to Signatures was approved by U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Oakland, Calif. on December 12.

Signatures is owned primarily by CEO Dell Furano and president/COO Don Hunt. The two, along with the late promoter/impresario Bill Graham, founded Winterland during the early '70s and operated the company into the early '90s. Hunt and Furano left in 1992 to start up Sony Signatures, the licensing division of Sony Music; they bought out Sony's interests in June 1999.

"Dell and I are very pleased to be able to acquire substantially all of the assets, name, history and Winterland’s significant roster of current artists," said Hunt. "We look forward to bringing our creativity and integrity to bear on the Winterland roster and meld the culture and history of our "old company" (pre-1992) and that of Signatures Network to provide the best service level possible for our total artist roster."

Signatures Network is completing its biggest year ever handling such major artists as U2, Madonna, Ozzy Osbourne/Ozzfest, and Tim McGraw among others.
