Senator Wants Amphitheater Funds Used For Flood Relief

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Pennsylvania State Senator Jim Ferlo is asking Gov. Ed Rendell to divert $4 million in state money already allocated for the proposed 5,600-seat amphitheater the Pittsburgh Steelers want to build near Heinz Field, to be targeted toward flood relief.

According to the governor's office, the money promised for the amphitheater cannot legally be used for flood relief; state capital budget money for economic development projects can't be moved to another category. The state is now working to find alternative funding for flood victims. — Jane Cohen and Bob Grossweiner
