Seatwave Removes Robbie Tickets In Germany

BERLIN (VIP-NEWS) — The German Federal Association of Concert Organisers` (bdv) fight against secondary ticketing has won the first battle against ticket provider Seatwave.

The secondary ticket market exchange, Seatwave, has removed all tickets for the six upcoming German concerts with Robbie Williams from sale on its platform at the instigation of the Federal Association.

One of the largest secondary ticket market exchanges has thus complied with the bdv's demand that they respect the prohibition on re-sale. "We will continue to act in the interests of event visitors by comprehensively taking action against all unauthorised ticket trading," commented attorney-at-law Dr. Johannes Ulbricht, legal advisor for the Federal Association.

His office has already obtained mandatory injunctions against other secondary ticket market exchanges – including Viagogo – which continue to make tickets available for sale as resellers.

"We are moving closer, step by step, to our goal of returning control of ticket prices to promoters and artists.

For the public, this means protection against inflated prices.

For promoters and artists this means that those who create the value embodied in the ticket price, rather than shady freeloaders, will benefit from it," comments Prof. Jens Michow, President of the bdv.
