Scottsdale Transgender Bathroom Dispute Settled

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A five dollar sign has put a lawsuit over transgender bathroom rights at Scottsdale nightclub Anderson's Fifth Estate.

The suit, a sex-discrimination complaint filed by Michele de LaFreniere against Tom Anderson, the club's owner for barring some of LaFreniere friends from the nightclub after other customers complained about transgendered people using the bathrooms.

The collision course was averted when Equality Arizona, an LGBT civil rights groups stepped in and brokered a compromise by setting up a meeting between the litigants, the Arizona Republic.

"I have a better understanding of (de LaFreniere's) position and she has a better understanding of mine," the club owner said.

To resolve the matter, Anderson has set up a single-stall restroom available to any patron. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
