Salsa musician Willie Colon has decided to run for public advocate of the City of New York. He will run as a democrat. Last week, Colon dropped out of the race for Bronx borough president.
Colon says that he has long been a political activist, citing songs he has penned about homeless children and AIDS. His main platform will center around education, housing and the shortage of healthcare workers.
