Rupp Arena Provides A Holiday Gift For Hannah-Bound Parents

LEXINGTON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A December 12th Hannah Montana gig at Rupp Arena in Lexington provided parents in attendance with their 'tweens a much-needed respite from the mishigas of the concert by providing a "parents lounge" for them to escape to.

"There are X amount of parents who can only tolerate so much screaming and squealing," Carl Hall, director of arena management at Lexington Center told the Herald-Leader "If you're a mother, you'll admit there is a time when you want a time out."

The lounge plans were elucidated as part of a "how-to" guide to the venue for novice pop concert attendees sent in a letter to ticket holders before the event. Tips included covered such topics as dining choices at the arena and what kinds of cameras were allowed.

The lounge itself provided comfortable space for parents to get a snack, check email, read the newspaper or other parent-related activities.

The idea for Parents lounges isn't entirely new, and they were a frequent feature at events aimed at young teens such as the New Kids On The Block from back in the day but had largely disappeared from the scene until just recently. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
