Ron Baird Explains His Unexpected Retirement

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — During an October 11 tribute luncheon at the ieba!LIVE conference in Nashville, former agent Ron Baird, who unexpectedly retired from CAA in Nashville in July, told attendees the reason is that he has Parkinson's disease.

After close to 30 years in the agenting business, Baird left his position as a senior music agent at CAA in Nashville. He opened the office in 1991 and manned it by himself for a short period of time. Over the years, he represented some of country music's biggest acts, including Reba McEntire, Barbara Mandrell, Shania Twain, Toby Keith, Clint Black, Alan Jackson and others. Baird worked at the Jim Halsey Company in the '70s and represented the Oak Ridge Boys, George Jones, Merle Haggard, Roy Clark and others.

We all wish him the best. –- CelebrityAccess Staff writers
