The tour, kicking off Feb. 28 in South Africa and winding down June 26 in London, will also make stops in Japan, India, South America and Europe. It also marks his first UK concerts since his "Radio K.A.O.S." performance at London's Wembley Arena in 1987 and his first European solo shows since 1984's short "The Pros & Cons Of Hitchhiking" outing.
Waters' 50-date, sold-out North American tour was so successul that many venues were upgraded mid-tour to larger arenas and amphitheaters due to ticket demand.
"In The Flesh World Tour 2002" presents a comprehensive overview of Waters' music including: early Pink Floyd material; his classic compositions from The Wall and Dark Side Of The Moon;" less well-known pieces from Animals, Wish You Were Here, and The Final Cut; songs from solo tours "Amused To Death" and "The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking;" and the debut of a new song "Each Small Candle."
Productionwise, the show will feature elaborate large-scale video projections, theatrical set-pieces and an array of special effects.
Waters' backing band features Andy Fairweather-Low (guitar), Snowy White (guitar), Doyle Bramhall II (guitar and vocals), Graham Broad (drums), Jon Carin (keyboards), Andy Wallace (keyboards), Norbert Stachel (saxophone), Katie Kissoon (vocals), Susannah Melvoin (vocals) and PP Arnold (vocals).
Waters has also been working on an opera in English and French, as well as a new rock album to be released next year.
