Ray Charles Receives Fourth Honorary Doctorate


Legendary singer Ray Charles received an honorary doctorate on May 6 from Albany (GA)
State University at its 83rd commencement ceremonies for which he also was the
commencement speaker.

To date, Charles has given Albany State University a $1 million
donation and plans to give them even more on May 6, when he
gets his fourth doctorate. He will also be awarded the school's "Friend of the
University Award."
