Rapper Scarface Arrested At BET Hip Hop Awards

ATLANTA (CelebrityAccess) — Moments after accepting a career achievement award at the BET Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta on Friday, rapper Scarface was arrested for allegedly failing to pay child support.

Media reports said that multiple sheriff's deputies were waiting backstage to take Scarface, also known as Brad Jordan, into custody. The Fulton County jail intimate information service shows him as being currently held on a warrant for child support contempt with a bond set at $482,190.

Scarface, a member of the Houston-based rap group Geto Boys, appeared on their seminal album "Grip It! On That Other Level." He also had a substantial solo career, releasing 12 albums under his own name, including the 2015 studio album "Deeply Rooted," which featured guest appearances from John Legend, CeeLo Green, NAS and Rick Ross among others.

The rapper was receiving the “I Am Hip Hop” career achievement award and was cuffed after giving his acceptance speech.
