Radio Personality Sues Sports Fan And Arena Over Assault


CHICAGO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Sports radio personality Chet Coppack has filed a lawsuit after a man him a black eye during an altercation outside of the Allstate Arena last year.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Coppock has launched a suit against his assailtant, Jaime Waldron, along with a list of five other parties, including the Arena, Aramark Sports and the Village of Rosemont.

The altercation occured after a Feb. 14, 2007, Marquette-De Paul basketball outside of the Allstate Arena. Coppock claims that Waldron had been drinking heavily and taunting De Paul fans. According to Coppock, Waldron punched him in the eye as Coppock was entering his car and that the assault was unprovoked.

Waldron was convicted of the assault last year and was sentenced to 40 hours of community service, probation and a court fees. Coppock reportedly threatened Waldron after the sentencing, telling his assailant that he intended to make "pay attorney's fees until he drops."

Since the attack, Coppock claims that he has suffered from headaches, nightmares and severe bouts of depression.
