Promoter Wins Suit Against Plies

MONTGOMERY (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A judge has decided against Florida rapper Plies in a lawsuit brought against the performer by an Alabama concert promoter.

According to the Montgomery Advertiser, Patrick Monifston of P Entertainment Promotions lodged a suit against Plies when the performer failed to show for a booked appearance on July 8th. When the no-show was announced to the 1,500 fans at the club, fights broke out, incurring thousands of dollars worth of damage.

Monifston sued for slander as well as breach of contract, stemming from disparaging comments Plies made about Monifston during a radio broadcast. During the broadcast, Plies asserted that he didn't turn up for the show because he had not been paid.

The judged reached a summary decision after Plies and his manager David Gay declined to appear in court. While the terms of the settlement were undisclosed, it is reportedly in excess of $11,000. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
