Promoter Mitch Karczewski Dies

CLEVELAND (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Longtime Ohio promoter and club owner Mitch Karczewski has died.

Karczewski, long a major figure in the Cleveland metal scene, owned Lorain's Red Parrot and was the former owner of the Flying Machine.

Through is promotion company Spotlight Talent, Mitch organized several popular metal festivals in the Cleveland, including the World Series of Metal and the Ohio Death Festival. According to the Cleveland Scene Karczewski was an instrumental component of the Cleveland metal scene, bringing some of the top names in touring metal bands to the Cleveland market throughout the last two decades, including Manowar, Stuck Mojo, Testament, Overkill, Anthrax and the Misfits to name a few.

Karczewski also played an important role in developing the careers of several up and coming Cleveland artists, including Mushroomhead and his latest project, the all-girl rock group Level C, The Cleveland Scene reported.

His wake will be this Sunday at Golubski Funeral Home at 5986 Ridge Rd., Parma. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
