Portland Concert Promoter Alex Gray Pleads Guilty In Domestic Violence Case

PORTLAND, ME (CelebrityAccess) — Maine concert promoter Alex Gray has plead guilty to charges of domestic assault, but denied striking his former girlfriend during an argument in March.

According to the Portland Press-Herald, Gray's plea agreement will allow him to withdraw his guilty plea in exchange for dropped charges if he complies with a 22-point agreement that includes provisions blocking him from contracting his former girlfriend Erica Cole.

Gray, who runs the Maine promoter Waterfront Concerts had been facing criminal charges over an alleged assault in March. According to a police report, Gray and Cole had been arguing before the assault and Cole attempted to leave Gray’s Portland condominium when Gray kicked her legs out from under her and forced her to the ground, banging her head on the floor.

Gray admits that he violated Cole's “personal space, causing us to fall to the floor” during an argument but he denied touching her “in a violent way" the Press-Herald reported.

Cole declined to speak to the Press-Herald following the court proceedings, but Gray told the newspaper that the plea agreement was a "compromise" that settled the matter.
