Performance Artist Denny Dent Dies

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Denny Dent, who billed his frenetic painting performances as the "Two Fisted Art Attack" died March 29 in Denver of kidney and heart complications. He was 55.

Described as the world’s “only rock and roll artist,” Dent made a name for himself by his frenzied style of painting, using three brushes in each hand, wildly painting portraits on six-foot canvases. Dent described his work as “a passionate dance on canvas.”

His diverse portfolio of performance portraits include Mick Jagger, Bono, members of Aerosmith, Donald Trump, Tony Bennett, Jay Leno, Martin Luther King, Jr., Miles Davis, Jerry Garcia, John Lennon, John Elway, former Denver concert promoter Barry Fey, and countless others.

Dent’s biggest gig was performing in front of 300,000 at Woodstock ’94.

Dent was represented for 18 years by Harris Goldberg of Concert Ideas in Woodstock, NY.

Dent is survived by his wife, Ali Christina Flores. — Jane Cohen and Bob Grossweiner
