Paperclip Agency Uncovers Office Espionage

Booking agency espionage has been uncovered in the Netherlands. Paperclip Agency principal Rob Berends has informed CelebrityAccess that agent Martin Fort copied office databases and used company resources for private purposes. Effective Sept. 27, Fort was fired.

"Martin Fort "no longer represents this company in any capacity and it is strictly forbidden for him to continue the work he did with any client (musicians, promoters etc.) that he worked with while being employed here," said Berends.

According to Berends, Fort turned in his resignation on Sept. 24 giving two months notice (end of contract was late November). "The next day he called in sick and did not go to work. But he did leave his house and hometown for several days without informing us and visited the office in the evening hours to send out private e-mails," Berends explained.

"That day and following days it turned out he used office time, copied office databases and used company resources for private purposes on such a large scale that these matters are now under investigation by the police and will be presented to our lawyer for further legal action. The misuse of office facilities (together with other reasons) forced us to fire Martin Fort 'at once,' 'there and then' on Sept. 27; Fort has been served with a registered letter to that effect.

Under Fort's employment contract, he is forbidden to continue working with any Paperclip clients for a year. All activities will be taken over by others agents in the office.
