Pandora Launches New Artist Fan Engagement Tools

OAKLAND (CelebrityAccess) — Music streaming service Pandora has launched AMPcast, a new artist engagement tool for artists to communicate with fans through the Pandora service.

This new feature, which is available on Pandora’s Artist Marketing Platform (AMP), is a promotional tool that lets artists instantly speak to their fans via 'self-serve' recorded messages. Artists can use the tool to alert fans about concert dates, album releases or to connect with fans in other ways.

“Lately I've been using AMPcast to spread the word,” said Oakland-bred rapper G-Eazy, who has over half a billion spins on Pandora. “It's as easy as it can possibly be. Pandora is changing the game with this one."

Other examples of artists leveraging AMPcast include DJ/producer Steve Aoiki, who created a message suggesting that his fans check out his new album “Neon Future Odyssey” on Pandora Premiers. Listeners clicked-through those messages at a rate of 17.67%, Pandora said.

Australian electronic hip-hop duo Hermitude created a series of geo-targeted messages about their upcoming tour aimed at regular listeners, and generated click-through rates ranging from from 3.17% – 8.95%.

This new tool saw a limited launch on March 8th, but is expected to be available to all artists registered with Pandora's AMP service in the coming months. – Staff Writers
