Palms Casino Resort Adds Recording Studio

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas will open a world class recording studio as part of its expansion to the resort. The studio will be the first of its kind to be placed in a hotel and casino. The masterminds behind this venture include George Maloof, owner of the Palms Casino Resort and the Sacramento Kings basketball team, and Larry Rudolph, manager of Britney Spears and TV producer with such hits as "Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica" on MTV. The studio will tie in with Maloof Music and Entertainment, a partnership with the Maloof family and Interscope Records.

The new 8,000 square foot, multi-room studio, designed by the New York-based design firm Francis Manzella Design, will include a large tracking and mixing room boasting an SSL 9000K, 80 input mixing desk. A second studio with an acoustically identical control room and a mid-sized overdub booth will be available primarily for mixing. Through an exclusive arrangement with Harmon International (Lexicon, Crown, JBL, AKG and many other professional product lines) and an extensive selection of vintage equipment, the studio will provide a top-shelf selection of microphones, processing, amplification and recording equipment.

Because it will be located at the Palms Casino Resort, the studio will offer client amenities that are not available at any other recording studio — it will be available 24 hours a day. The studio will also offer luxury suites 'wired' to the studio for the convenience of recording clients staying at the resort. There will also be portable DAW based recording stations that can be brought to a guest's room for a more private recording experience. Additionally, the studio will feature a screening room complete with concierge and private access.

Owned by the Maloof family, the $265-million, 430-room property boasts a diverse mix of restaurants and bars and a 95,000-square-foot casino. The resort also offers a spa and salon, a 14-theatre Cineplex, Rain Las Vegas Nightclub, ghostbar, Skin Pool Lounge, the Hart and Huntington Tattoo Company and over 20,000 square-feet of meeting space. –Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen
