One Direction Announce US Tour For 2014

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Tween sensation One Direction has announced plans for a stadium tour of North America in the late summer of 2014 with a planned show in Central Park that will be broadcast live on ABC's "Good Morning America."

The 21-city tour, promoted by Live Nation and sponsored by snack food maker by Nabisco, kicks off on August 1, 2014 in Toronto, at Rogers Centre and includes stops in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, Dallas and Miami, amongst others. Additional dates to be announced.

Comprised of Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson, One Direction formed in September, 2010 after a favorable run on the British version of the "X Factor" television talent show. Since then, the group has racked up some impressive statistics, moving more than 35 million records, according to the band's management, Modest! Management. Other feathers in One Direction's cap include a fist full of BRIT Award, three Billboard Music Awards, six Teen Choice Awards, three MTV EMAs, two 2013 American Music Awards and a moonman for Best Song Of The Summer at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.

One Direction will be touring in support of their third studio album "Midnight Memories" which dropped on Nov. 25 on Simon Cowell's Syco Records.
