Oak View Group Acquires Pinnacle Venue Services

SAN ANTONIO, TX (CelebrityAccess) – Tim Leiweke's Oak View Group has purchased the venue management company Pinnacle Venue Services and will operate it as OVG Facilities.

According to the Oak View Group-owned Venues Today, Peter Luukko, who is co-chair of OVG’s Arena Alliance, will oversee the new division, while Sam Hinds has joined as SVP of Business Development for OVG Facilities.

Pinnacle principal managing partners will continue as Senior Vice Presidents at OVG Facilities, Venues Today said.

Pinnacle currently manages a number of venues, including the Seminole Theatre, Homestead, FL; Kovalchick Complex, at Indiana University of Pennsylvania; Watsco Center at the University of Miami; Two Rivers Convention Center, and Avalon Theater in Grand Junction, CO; and the Birch Run Expo Center in Birch Run, Mich.

Pinnacle also handles contemporary music event booking at the AT&T Performing Arts Center, in Dallas TX; event booking at Las Colonias Amphitheater in Grand Junction; and has a booking agreement with the Bob Carpenter Center at the University of Delaware.

As well, the company has a heavy focus on the increasingly important field of venue and event security and provides consultation and evaluation services for major sports leagues such as the NHL, and NBA for their international games. The company also provides "red team" assessments to test client venue security.

“With the increasing attacks on entertainment venues, it is imperative for all public assembly venues, promoters, and professional sporting events to ensure their events and facilities are secure and safe for attendees.” Said J.T. Klingenmeier, Pinnacle’s Director of Venue Services in a recent presser. “The landscape is constantly changing and, therefore, venues and teams need always to be adapting their security operations to be effective.”
