NYC Street To Be Named After The Ramones' Joey Ramone

Plans are in the works to rename the corner of East Second Street and the Bowery in New York's East Village Joey Ramone Place, after the late Joey Ramone, the Ramones' lead singer who died April 15. It was unanimously passed by the Public Safety and Transportation Committee of Manhattan's Community Board 3. It now has to be approved by the 50-member community board meeting on Nov. 15.
