No, The Foo Fighters Aren't Going On An 'IHateUs'

(CelebrityAccess) — American rock band Foo Fighters managed to troll a substantial portion of the entertainment news industry this week after luring them into reporting on the band's rumored hiatus, and that frontman Dave Grohl was planning to go solo.

Publications ranging from Spin to the New York Post's Page Six reported that the band was going on break, fueled in large part by a January 16th Artisan News interview where the band's drummer Taylor Hawkins told the interviewer that the Foos were going on an 'ihateus', apparently riffing on the word hiatus while sounding like he was making a verbal slip of the tounge.

The rumors were further propelled by several recent solo appearances by Grohl, including a performance at the Oscars and compounded further still by the ominous-sounding news of an 'Important Band Announcement' to come on Wednesday night.

Well, it turned out the Foos were just having fun and when the announcement was revealed on Wednesday, it proved to be a rather funny YouTube video that served to deflate the rumors of the band's impending break. It's worth a watch, particularly as we've thoughtfully included a link for you to do so below.
