New Naming Rights Deal For The Sommet

NASHVILLE, TN (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Nashville Predators and tire manufacturer Bridgestone have signed a 5-year extension of their marketing partnership that will see the Sommet Center renamed to the Bridgestone Arena.

The financial underpinnings of the 5-year agreement were not disclosed and the new moniker for the arena still needs a stamp of approval from the Nashville Sports Authority.

The 20,000-seat venue, soon to be known as the Bridgestone Arena, first opened in 1996 and currently serves as home to the NHL hockey franchise The Nashville Predators, as well as hosting concerts by major touring artists including Garth Brooks, Elton John and Billy Joel, Rolling Stones, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Martina McBride.

“Bridgestone Americas and its subsidiary company, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations LLC (BATO) have been long term supporters of the Predators and it is fantastic to have them on board at this new level. We are excited to have a locally based partner with the global brand equity and recognition of Bridgestone. They have a strong presence in sports marketing across the country which made this opportunity very attractive." said Ed Lang, President of Business Operations Nashville Predators. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
