NC Woman Files Suit Against Over Miley Tix

GREENSBORO, N.C. (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — In the latest in a string of legal probes into the high price of Hannah Montana tickets, a North Carolina woman has filed a lawsuit against TicketsNow. In the lawsuit, the woman alleges that the public had no opportunity to purchase tickets as advertised, at face value at a facility that is, in part, supported by her tax dollars.

North Carolina mom Lyn Peraldo recounts a story that with her daughter eager to see Miley, she made a trek to the Greenboro Coliseum in order to get in line ahead of the September 15th 10 AM on-sale time that the venue box office listed for the event. According to Peraldo, she was surprised to find that within minutes of the sales commencing, that those waiting in line were told that all the tickets were gone. She then hopped on the phone and requested that a relative try to secure tickets online, an endeavor that also met with no success.

Peraldo's online efforts ultimately did secure tickets to the event but the $56 dollar tickets were now going for, according to the lawsuit, $225 per ticket, plus a "service charge" of $135 and a "shipping charge" for 14.95 to return the tickets which had been purchased just moments before to North Carolina.

Peraldo maintains that this is a clear violation of North Carolina anti-scalping laws which prohibit ticket resale at more than 3 dollars over the face value of a ticket. The suit contends that this represents deceptive business practices on the part of the ticket broker, and she is seeking at least 10,000 in compensatory and punitive damages. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
