Misfits To Reunite For The First Time Since 1983

LODI CA (CelebrityAccess) — After years of acrimony, the original members of the horror-punk band the Misfits are reuniting to perform at this year's Riot Fests. According to Rolling Stone, frontman Glenn Danzig, bassist Jerry Only and guitarist Doyle are all confirmed, though as of yet, no drummer has been announced.

As well, the band is bolstering their new 4-track EP, Friday the 13th, which is set for release, appropriately enough on Friday, May 13th via Misfits Records.

The reunion shows will mark the first time that the band has performed in this configuration since their dissolution following their annual annual Halloween performance at Greystone Hall in Detroit in 1983.

In subsequent years, the members of the group sparred over the use of the band's name, but finally reached a legal settlement in 1995 that would allow Only and Doyle to tour under the Misfits moniker sans Danzig.

At the same time, the band's reputation continued to grow, bolstered by groups such as Metallica covering their material ("Last Caress" and "Green Hell") and citing the Misfits as an influence.

So far, the two announced performances are for September 2nd at Denver's Riot Fest & Rodeo and September 4th at Chicago's Riot Fest & Carnival. – Staff Writers
