Melbourne AC/DC Conflict Resolved

MELBOURNE, Australia (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Promoters for the Australian leg of AC/DC's "Black Ice" have managed to resolve a double-booking issue that had threatened the band's February dates at Melbourne's Etihad Stadium.

According to Billboard, the tour's co-promoters Chugg Entertainment and Garry Van Egmond Enterprises had AC/DC playing a trio dates at the Stadium on February 11, 13 and 15th. Unfortunately, the Australian Football League claimed they had a contract with the venue that gave them the right to host a pre-season NAB Cup tournament at the stadium on the same dates – litigation ensued.

The matter has been resolved however and the concerts are set to go on. The deal will see the AFL split an additional $5.5 million Australian from the Stadium between 16 AFL clubs over a 15 year period, ending in March, 2025.

"We'll schedule around AC/DC and we'll probably end up doing the NAB Cup over a two- or three-week period for the first round," AFL CEO Andrew Demetriou told reporters during a press conference. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
