MCD Appoints Committee Over Streisand Flap

DUBLIN (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Irish concert promoter MCD has announced that is has set up a committee to investigate the problems that fans experienced at a recent Dublin concert.

As previously reported in CelebrityAccess, the event drew complaints from patrons, who in some cases described the concerts organization as "dreadful." Inclement weather, a lack of ushers and fights over very expensive seats and a late start to the show left fans with a bitter taste in their mouths.

MCD's Denis Desmond has tried to be proactive, appointing former Garda Síochána (The police force of the Irish republic) commissioner Pat Byrne "to conduct a thorough examination of the issues affecting concert-goers" the Irish Times reported. Said committee is expected to swing into action this very week and conclude its functions by "early September." The Irish Times has stated that in addition to Mr. Byrne, the committee will also include Michael Slattery, communications consultant Julian Davis and Denis Desmond.

While MCD has stated that they have only received 127 complaints thus far, out of 17,000 attendees, they have invited those with unaddressed concerns to write to them at MCD/C.O. Denis Desmond, 7, Park Road, Dún Laoghaire, Co Dublin. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
