PGM, the Boston-based artist management firm founded by former Extreme drummer Paul Geary, has appointed Ron Valeri VP/COO to assist in the development of its
artist roster. Included are multi-platinum rock acts Godsmack, Cold
(recently certified gold on their latest record "Thirteen Ways to Bleed"),
Reveille (currently climbing up the rock charts with their new single
"Inside Out") and newcomers Must (debut out on Wind-up Records, April 9).
"We
feel very fortunate to have an executive with Ron's level of
experience on our team," says Geary. "It is a giant step forward in the growing process
for us."
Valeri has left his position as Program Director of
Rhythmic Hits station, STAR 93.7 (WQSX, Boston).
Full Service Management Company Formed By Industry Vets
Focus Three Management, a full service management, production, publishing and marketing company, with offices on Long Island and Jersey City, NJ, has been launched by music industry vets Barry Goody, Bob Rifici and Perry Cooper. The trio will focus on artists in the tri-state area.
Goody, a professor of music business at Five Towns College on Long Island, is a former vice president of Sam Goody Inc.; Rifici is a 25-year veteran of RCA Records and a former vice president of Stratford Distribution Corp. and Hempstead Music Company; and Cooper, president of PERCO Artist Development & Management, is an 18-year vet of Atlantic Records where he was vice president of artist relations, publicity and touring, and started the label's first tour department.
"We're interested in building careers and not just in 'one-hit wonders,'" states Cooper.

The Firms Adds Manager, Artists
Powerhouse artist management company The Firm, has added to its manager and artist roster with the addition of Dan Dalton and his clients Jurassic 5 and Dilated Peoples. Dalton has subsequently shuttered his old management company, Word of Mouth Entertainment.
