Louis C.K. Cancels Film Premier Amid Sexual Misconduct Allegations

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — The New York premiere of Louis C.K.'s upcoming film "I Love You Daddy" has been canceled after the New York Times published a story containing allegations from women who accuse the popular comedian of sexual misconduct.

The Times article details allegations from five different women who claim that Louis C.K., who was born Louis Székely, masturbated in their presence, or requested to do so.

Chicago comedy duo, Dana Min Goodman, and Julia Wolov told the Times that when they were performing at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colo., Louis C.K. invited them back to his hotel room after the duo's late night performance. As soon as they arrive, the two women claim Louis C.K. asked them if he could take out his penis. The two initially laughed it off as a joke, but were soon proven wrong when he proceeded to start masturbating, they allege.

“And then he really did it,” Ms. Goodman said in an interview with The New York Times. “He proceeded to take all of his clothes off, and get completely naked, and started masturbating.”

Actress and writer Abby Schachner also detailed an alleged masturbatory encounter with Louis C.K. to the times. Schachner claims that in 2005, she called Louis C.K. to invite him to one of her shows and during the phone conversation, she told the newspaper that she could hear him masturbating.

Another comedian, Rebecca Corry, claimed to the Times that when the two were appearing together on a television pilot in 2005 that he asked if he could masturbate in front of her. She declined the invitation, she added.

The New York Times reported that Louis C.K. did not respond to a request for comment about the allegations directly, with a rep telling the newspaper that he had no comment. On the same day, Louis C.K. abruptly canceled a planned premier for his controversial film "I Love You Daddy" on Thursday, as well as an appearance on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” to promote the film.

"I Love You Daddy" starring Louis C.K. and Chloe Grace Moretz tells the story of a successful television producer (Louis C.K.) trying to derail his daughter's (Moretz) fascination with a famous 68-year-old filmmaker (John Malkovich).

The film generated controversy after it debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival in September due racially charged language used through the film, multple jokes about child rape, and its apparent similarity to the real life sexual abuse allegations against noted director Woody Allen, the Hollywood Reporter said.

In a statement released following the publication of the Times story, film distributor The Orchard said:

“In light of the allegations concerning Louis C.K. referenced in today’s New York Times, we are canceling tonight’s premiere of I Love You, Daddy. There is never a place for the behavior detailed in these allegations. As a result, we are giving careful consideration to the timing and release of the film and continuing to review the situation."
