Loudeye Acquires Wonderhorse Technology

Loudeye Technologies, Incorporated, a provider of Webcasting and digital media services, has completed the acquisition of technology and intellectual property from privately held, Seattle-based Wonderhorse Corporation, a leading provider of real-time collaboration technology and applications. As part of the transaction, Loudeye acquires Wonderhorse's existing intellectual property portfolio, including the Wonderhorse Realtime Server Platform. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Loudeye intends to integrate the Wonderhorse Realtime Server into its enterprise communications products to develop applications that enable real-time sharing of data and collaboration between online audiences. Wonderhorse technology allows groups participating in online meetings and presentations to interact in real-time using voice, data or video. Loudeye intends to employ a team of Wonderhorse executive and product development staff to assist in the integration and product development.

"Wonderhorse platform technology offers functionality that can increase the value Loudeye offers its customers," said Mark Consuegra, Wonderhorse chief executive officer. "Loudeye's reach and understanding into the needs of enterprise communications customers represents a powerful opportunity to develop dynamic, interactive applications for those customers based on Wonderhorse real-time technology."

"Enterprise communications is reaching an important inflection point where companies already understand the benefits of Webcasting but are interested in increasing their effectiveness through more sophisticated and dynamic Webcasts," said John T. Baker, Loudeye's chairman and chief executive officer. "Wonderhorse offers a combination of technology and expertise to accelerate our time-to-market with products that meet this need for advanced web-based enterprise communications."
