Live Nation’s UK Playaway Festival Cancelled

SKEGNESS, UK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Promoter Live Nation pulled the plug on a new festival that had been planned for April 16-18 at Butlin's resort in the seaside town of Skegness due to "unforeseen circumstance."

The festival's lineup had included The Futureheads, New Young Pony Club, Scouting For Girls, The Noisettes and Scottish DJ Calvin Harris, , I Blame Coco (aka. Coco Sumner aka. Sting's daughter), Tiffany Page, Chase and Status (DJ Set), Sub Focus, MCs Rage and I.D, Plan B, Example, Daisy Dares You, Rox, Ou Est Le Swimming Pool, Darwin Deez, Alan Pownall, General Fiasco, Smash n Grab residents, and Queens of Noize.

Live Nation had been hoping to offer a new format for a weekend festival with an option for indoor facilities in the case of inclement weather but the gamble appears not to have paid off. While the reason for the cancellation was not officially revealed, sources told Music Week that the event was scrubbed due to slow ticket sales. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
