Live Nation Voids Scalped Tickets In Holland

AMSTERDAM (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Live Nation Entertainment's Netherlands operation Mojo Concerts has cancelled more than 1,000 tickets it claimed had been rendered invalid due to being sold by ticket scalpers.

The tickets were to two shows; a sold-out May 1st show by The Editors and a May 7th show by Mika, and Live Nation claims that they had been purchased for intended resale through 12 different Dutch secondary ticketing websites, which constitutes a violation of the terms and conditions of the original sale. Live Nation has already reposted the voided tickets for resale through their own ticketing website.

The 12 Dutch companies in question are: 12 24hourtickets.nl, 4alltickets.nl, Easytickets.eu, ltaticketservice.nl, Pepetickets.nl, QQ-tickets.nl, Ticketunlimited.nl, Ticketforsale.nl, Tickets123.nl, Ticketsnederland.nl, Tickets4u.nl, Worldwideticketshop.nl. Tickets being sold on other secondary ticket market sites outside of Holland were not voided, Eu Ticket News reported.

Some observers have cried foul about the voided tickets, noting that Live Nation Entertainment is an active participant in the secondary market themselves through their Getmein site in Holland or their ticketing partner Viagogo.

"This is ridiculous," Keje Molenaar, Chairman of the European Secondary Ticketing Association told EU Ticket News "We should not be fighting against each other, but trying to work together to stamp out criminal elements in the secondary ticket industry, rather than battle against legitimate resellers, legitimate tax paying entities… that employ people in this country."
