Live Nation Outfoxes Competition In Riverside

RIVERSIDE, CA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Live Nation has been provisionally approved to take over operations at the Fox Performing Arts Center and Municipal Auditorium, under a proposed contract that the city council will consider on Oct. 8th.

According to the Press-Enterprise, the proposed contract will see Live Nation receive as much as three times the amount that Riverside is paying the venue's current manager. Under the terms of the proposed dollar agreement worth approximately a half-million dollars, Live Nation would enjoy a potential performance bonus, naming rights and a three-year term with extensions.

The current operator for the venue is William Malone, who is under a short-term contract and did not opt to submit a bid to continue overseeing the facility. Live Nation was selected from a group of seven bidders.

City officials are hoping that Live Nation can revitalize the Fox, which has been the focus of complaints from members of the community over unresponsive management and a lack of diversity in programming. The historic venue, originally built in 1929, underwent a $32 million refurbishment, the Press-Enterprise reported. – Staff Writers
